All festivals and rituals in Hindu religion begin with Ganesha Pooja.
- Red colored flower are the all time favorite of Lord Ganesha. Any red color flower can be used.
- Dhurva Grass is an important offering for Lord Ganesh. It is known as Arugam pul in Tamil, Dhub, Durva and Haritali in Hindi (North India). Bermuda or Bahama Grass is the English name.
- Milkweed flower is the another important flower for offering Lord Ganesha. It is known as Arka in Hindi and Erukkum Poo in South India. Jilledi is the name used in Eastern India.
- Sanku Pushpam or Conch flower both flower and leaf is offered for Lord Ganesha.
Thulasi leaves and flowers are not generally used in Ganesha Puja. But it is widely used during Vinayaka Chathurthi.
