Mutton Kheema

Mutton-1/2 kg (minced)
Onion-1-2 nos
Tomatoes-2 nos
Ginger garlic paste-1 tsp
Masala Powder -2 tbsp
Coriander powder-1 tbsp
Lime juice-2 tsp

For Seasoning
Bay leaf-a small piece
Fennel seeds-1 teaspoon

For Garnishing

Cilantros – 2tbsp


  1. Wash and mince the mutton.
  2. Heat oil in a cooker, add the items for seasoning. Add ginger garlic paste and stir well.
  3. Now add the chopped onion fry it till translucent and then add tomatoes sauté well. Add the minced mutton along with turmeric powder now and sauté for 5 minutes till water oozes out from the mutton.
  4. Now add the Masala powder and coriander powder. Mix well.
  5. Add a cup of water and the salt needed.
  6. Close the cooker. Keep in the medium flame. Cook for 12 – 15 minutes depending on the quality of mutton.
  7. Check for the consistency and taste. If required cook until the gravy is thick for another 5 – 10 minutes without closing the lid.
  8. Switch off the stove and add the lemon juice. The gravy can be garnished with coriander leaves.

Serve Hot with Puris…
