Paneer Makhani

  • Ingredients:                                                                                                                                            
  • Paneer-200gm (Cut into pieces)
  • Tomatoes-5 large (Chopped)
  • Ginger-1tsp (Chopped)
  • Butter/Ghee- 2 tbsp
  • Oil- 2 tbsp
  • Green cardamoms- 2 crushed
  • Sugar -½ tsp,
  • Salt to taste
  • Garam masala-½ tsp
  • Red Chilly powder- ½ tsp
  • Tomato ketchup-1 tsp
  • Dry fenugreek leaves-2 tsp
  • Milk or Cream-1/2 cup
  • Cilantro- ¼ cup
  • To be Grinded:
  • Cashew nuts-4 tbsp
  • Kus Kus- 1 tsp

Soaked in ¼ cup water


  • Method:
  •       In a deep dish, put the tomatoes, ginger and ½ cup of water to boil. Let it cool. Take out the skin and make puree in a mixer.
  •       In a pan Mix half a portion of butter/ghee and oil heat it for a while. Add cardamoms, fresh tomato puree and tomato ketchup on by one.
  •       Then Add Red chilly powder, Garam Masala, Salt and Sugar. Fry it till the oil separates from the mixture. Now mix ½ cup of water to the mixture.
  •       Keep stirring until ghee floats on top and then add the balance butter, paneer, cashew nut paste and fenugreek leaves. Mix well until the paneer get cooked for few minutes.
  •       Add enough milk/cream to get thick gravy. Simmer the stove and wait for few minutes. The Paneer Makhani is ready to serve.

As u all know Paneer is a good source of Calcium and Protein. This helps to build Strong teeth and Bones. Tomato is a good source of vitamin A and C which is good for kid’s eye sight and also helps to build immune system.
